This past spring break Tech Sailing attended sailing training in Oriental, NC at Bow to Stern Boating Center.
Although it was a chilly week, we still had great wind and participated in a lot of good practices. Every morning started out with a workout, then we moved into drills and practice, ending in a chalk talk and debrief. We started the week building foundations in boat handling then moved into racing strategy later in the week. One of the more entertaining drills that we practiced was blindfolded sailing to increase skipper/crew communication.
Special thanks to the Messer's for letting us stay at their house in Oriental, Mark Fields for all his hard work, and the NC State team for working with us!
