sailing club at virginia tech alumni communityThe heart of Tech Sailing lies with its members, and we have been very lucky as a club to have sailors who are so animated and devoted to sailing. The alumni community is a way for previous members to stay connected and continue to participate in the club. We welcome any ideas and comments from current alumni as we work to create an association of people who want to see the club thriving!

As we are building our new dock and expanding as a club, we want to share it with all the people who helped make the Sailing Club what it is today! We held one in November 2016 & 2017 and we are hoping to have another this Fall! We are so excited about hosting everyone and can't wait to see you all there! Learn-To-Sail Program As a club, we would like to put together a more structured program for improving our members sailing abilities. We will have more details on this venture when the weather gets warmer and we start having regular lake days again. Building a New Dock We are currently in the process of building a new dock to hold FJ's and the crash boat. This will increase the ease of use on the site and hopefully give members of the club more opportunities to get on the water. The specific updates can be found on our News blog. Summer Coaching The CLSP has been so generous to our club by letting us use their facilities to practice. In order to give back to our sailing community and thank them for their countless years of support, we will be coaching again this summer at the Claytor Lake facility. We are super excited to reach out and do what we love while giving back! |
